First impression of the AT pro

Well of course set up was a breeze and had it up and running in five minutes. Packed up the van and took my daughter as she loves to "treasure hunt" with me. I ran the machine in pro mode zero with Iron audio on and set at 36. I really like the iron audio on. It does talk alot to ya but I enjoy that for when you do hit a good target it screams at ya. I was out for about 2.5 hours at the new site. Its an old private school from the 1890's to the 1930's or so. The building are still up and but the place is abandoned besides the newer area way in front.

The place has the pro grunting and chirping like crazy.... But when I hit a good target it was solid and loud. Sometimes a VID number sometimes not registered in the 81-83 range. But was a definite bell tone solid and loud. Dug down 9" for a penny no less lol. That was some work and without my pro pointer pennies blend in well. I really can't wait till the pro pointer arrives Tuesday! A few feet from there another penny 6" deep. So much for my worries of depth digging that penny at 9" was some dang work!

So much scrap on the property you can tell nobody has metal detected here. I am hoping to clean it up and all the while pull some nice old coins from here. The area is absolutely huge I have to cover.

So far its a good start just playing with it I am happy and not worried about depth in the least as of yet. More to come for now I am enjoying it. I could swing this all day it fits me well. I am 5'7 and had no troubles with its weight or balance.

Oh wanted to add that getting the coil plugged it was a pain in the butt. Worst design ever. That was the 4 minutes of my 5 minute set up :(

Out at the school again. Will report back later tonight. So far so good. I really likeing this machine so far. Ease of use is great.

Stix I have trouble retrieving those targets past 6". It just takes too long and the longer it takes to dig the target the harder it is to get back up. So I set the sensitivity at 3 bars and I am digging targets at 3"- 5" sometimes more. I am just fine with the surface targets. Not only that but I ran Standard mode the last time I was out in a soccer field with not a lot of trash. It was so nice and quiet and sure could tell those coin sounds. The response is slower and the target sound is wider. I think every once and awhile I need just a comfortable fun hunt.
Stix thanks for info and look forward to more finds and experiences you are having with the AT. HH. Happy Trails....Z

Pics tomorrow got 2 hours in today and got called into work :( be back at the school all day tomorrow wife be pissed but my turn to have fun!!! Yes i found alot but school is so untouched a ton of garbage to pick weed out!

I use one of those predator shovels. You can use your body weight to cut a nice deep plug. I got the one with a ball on the end instead of the T so it slides right into a hammer holder on my belt. A good tip from guys in my club.
