First hunt with V1.1 and it gets the thumbs up from me.

The only thing that worry's me is that nit pickers (testers ) might start posting video's on you tube about some stupid test they configured to try show failings in some way,
i hope Xp don't get sucked in and change to another version to appease testers. The V1.1 is working very well, no point in trying to fix some thing that is not broken.
I can see some good finds coming out with V1.1. Some surprises . The responsiveness of the detector is sharper than ever. No deep iron dug , i am bought on V1.11 for sure.

1000% agreed, I took it out for the first time today in one of the worst places I’ve ever hunted and did really well. The audio wasn’t confusing or lying about things either, totally tame yet high performing in Sensi FT. I’m VERY pleased so far also!

Yep just a short trial and seems very stable and deep. Many YouTubers have to come up with stuff to be interesting.
Im sure some people will want more changes and features. XP will probably come out with another one to appease and keep people interested.
If it works to your liking just keep using it the way it is. Updates are not mandatory. Unless it starts acting up has everything i would need for my hunting.
I don’t go out to hunted out sites to compare versions per say but be interesting to hear if it actually finds things that were missed for sure by previous versions.

I'm confused.... why did you update to 1.1 when you believe testers shouldn't "nitpick" as you called it. We might still be on the original software otherwise. The improvements in versions after that are partially the result of testers' feedback, addressing and relaying issues they, and others, noted. They scrutinize and test as many possible scenarios to identify ways to improve as does advances in technology. It's not nitpicking. To avoid being hypocritically, you need to go back to the oldest software, actually the original beta before anyone tested it in the field. No need to have testers acknowledge issues or suggest improvements and ask XP to be "sucked in" as you put it, right? You can't have it both ways; happy with an update, but criticizing testers for "nitpicking" to get it updated. I think it's great that modern detectors can be updated. As technology improves or issues are found, we benefit from not having to buy another detector. You can even revert back if you prefer a previous version, which you should do since you dislike all that nitpicking. And definitely don't update when the next update comes out.
To all the testers, on YouTube and in the background: Thanks for all your hard work! The majority of us appreciate it. Ignore the negativity from those that downplay your contribution.
And thanks to XP for requesting and responding to their input

Well it scratches the coin mans itch now, think he means The youtube expert brigade that aint smart enough to tune their machine or those brand haters that find a way to make a non existing problem look real.

Exactly. Difference between R&D team and feedback from general public with you tube channels. I think he was referring to the latter.
Otherwise why are we or everyone on youtube not a “tester”
G. Blackwell is with xp notice the difference between his videos and some others I won’t mention. I don’t recall Gary comparing to other brands and doing air tests. Think xp can do their own air tests in shop

One "Big Fat" name quickly comes to mind.

That sentiment is opposite to why testers exist in the first place. I have friends in the hunting world who are or were pro staff for some companies. Nitpicking is exactly WHAT IS NEEDED in many situations because these products are more or less universal, therefore requiring a product that will work everywhere. You can tune from that baseline, and that’s what XP corrected on v1. Youtube testers-who do know their machines btw-are basically free R&D for manufacturers! I would not assume these companies have large departments with paid staff flying the globe to test every soil type! if you have an axe to grind maybe you should just be more direct. As to the veiled reference to Calabash, I support him all the way personally, and don’t care/not bothered if he’s brash in his approach. His settings (with minor tweaks) have worked quite well for me on the D1 and I expect will as well on the D2. But you need to watch all tester videos to get a good idea of how to tune your machine to YOUR site. That is, after all, what the Deus is about.

I fully support feedback from all as no two places around the globe have the same ground conditions and xp can’t have employees everywhere around the world.
With that said some of these “testers” don’t necessarily take that into consideration either and are not open to the fact there are variables to what they say. No detector can work the same everywhere. Claiming one knows more than both the manufacturer and everyone else perhaps they should design their own detector. Pro staff could also be they were just order takers and not necessarily electrical engineers. Knowing that much I’m sure manufacturers are always open to engineers on staff to help design and create new devices. Free R&D, well as the old saying you get what you pay for.
Most you tubers not employed by a company just like the media are only Interested in one thing and thats ratings, how many likes can i get.

You mean like the two Youtube videos I just watched from the same person? First one just ripped the 1.1 update saying and showing it falsing over iron 6" away from the target coin. Second one was "oops, I mistakenly did that testing over buried coins in my yard." Tested in a clean area and worked way better than even .71 Point is - if you are going to criticize and rip, make sure you have clean hands. Or no hidden agenda.

Exactly, no hidden agendas! I have seen one YouTuber talk about the manticore as being total garbage but turn around later and correct himself later. I don’t hold it against them if they make a mistake, not like I haven’t made one or two. But the point is, they can teach you how to navigate menus, etc with their experiments, and maybe give info to keep others from struggling. They are a benefit, even if they’re not engineers or always right. Having said all that, I’m glad they fixed and updated the update. I just got my D2 and it’s the original FW, so it will be interesting to see if I would even notice a difference based on having only used the machine once so far! But I might as well do it and learn it as is. I’ll be watching Gary and everyone else to see what quirks to expect…

Nothing wrong with learning and taking advice from others. My point not everyone gives the best advice. Weather you want to take it from just anyone who does a youtube video is totally up to you 😁

Absolutely. I look at it as a potential way to shorten the learning curve. Especially since I’ve been using an Equinox for the last 4 years! I had always regretted selling my Deus so now ‘I’m back’. If I were to pick a YouTuber I really like-it would be ‘Grif-finds’. But I like a lot of them and the rest I just use as possible learning.

Alot of useful information on youtube. Pick and choose what’s best

All I use is my D2 and manticore I like them both but use my manticore in the saltwater I do not like the antenna on the D2 it’s a great woods detector what I use mine for I have to update to 1.1 see how that works

Mark, i got the detec-ed carbon fiber lower shaft not only is it lighter, as if the D2 wasn’t light enough, but the main difference is much stiffer with no flex especially in water. Connects better at the coil, and has a hole to run the wire inside the shaft all the way up to the remote. You actually have 90% less wire exposed than you would on other wired detectors. Haven’t used it in water yet but heard there are no connection issues. running it inside the shaft keeps it very secure and out of the way

I have one I used the Nokta carbon shaft works great it’s a big improvement over the stock one especially if you have a 11” coil

Rumor has it Cbash is/was a paid company man for at least one brand. As I recall he really turned a thumbs down on the Legend when he was "reviewing" another brand. Plus, anyone who disables comments on the utube videos has no balls.

I am certainly not happy with the fixed update. Still has masking issues and bad tids, In over 1 year of waiting and XP firmware release was a disaster. Need to fix the same issues that are in 1.10 that are from .71 and I would be happy without any new features first.
