I hunted a cavalry spot today. I dug my first complete spencer bullet along with other cavalry relics.

That is a good Save for sure. I have found some Spencer bullets, but never a complete bullet. I have found several with a part of the brass casing attached, and one bullet that still had a piece of the paper cartridge still attached to the base of the bullet. Congratulations to you on the Save of the complete Spencer.

A first is always good Tim! What caliber are they? Rimfire?
It's called a .56/56 spencer rifle cartridge. It says the bullets are .56 cal but the bore is .52 cal. It is a rim fire self contained rife cartridge. One of the first to see use in the civil war. The bullets I've found in this spot are for the spencer rifle. The hadn't issued any carbines in July 1863 yet. This is from a action that took place on July 13th 1863 at the tail end of the Gettysburg campaign. Meads cavalry caught up to the tail end of Lee's army & pushed them. They took repeaters after them. Pretty serious stuff. This is from John Bufords division cavalry corps Army of the Potomac.

Thanks buddy. My digging buddy found a few in here but not me til yesterday. I'm glad I didn't hit it. It would've went to pieces.

Man , you are making some great finds!!!
Are those Burnside rounds next to the Sharps rounds?
I am curious about the other bullet nearby that has what appears to be hash marks around the base… carved?
That complete a Spencer round is very nice!!
Thanks buddy. Yes I found two Burnside carbine bullets yesterday. It's a pistol bullet. It appears to have marks from cloth or something on it. It's the only one like that from yesterday.
