Finely got the Quatro,

Flintstone

Well-known member
Hi all, i got my detector, looks like new, works grate. It has the 10" coil. How dose everyone get the coil from flopping up and down. I don't want to over tighten. Is there a coil holder or something to put on it? The detector still has the plactic cover on the face, i think it was a demo. Thanks for any help, flintstone

Flintstone, they make a coil support, triangular in shape. They are made of plastic and they connect to the lower shaft @ the coil using the same hardware that connects the coil to the lower shaft. I used to own one or two. Let me check and if I have one, I'll send you one. I'll get back to you.

Check to make sure the washers are on it. I’ve cut spacers out of plastic lids to fill in when necessary.
I did that with a cardboard box that came with pens. That box was slightly thicker than today’s boxes and it made for a good washer. After awhile it wore down, I would make another and replaced.

Confetrit, I made one of those out of plastic but it broke, it was to thin. I will try and find some thicker plastic. I think it will work if i can find something that will not brake. Can't use anything to thick. What would you think would make a good brace?

Maybe try rubber washers.
What I've used on other machines.
Most machines today come with them installed.
CK out a good hardware store.
Come in many sizes and thickness.

I would think a heavier plastic, but not too thick, as these were made of. Have you tried to Google these to see if they are still available for sale? They were not expensive. I hate that I haven't been able to come across the one I had. I really don't remember what I did with it. I have sold several detectors and I may have let it go with one of them. Anyways, best of luck to you.

Yes, i tryed to find them even on Centervill and they didn,t have any listed. I will find something that is stronger and make anouther one. I think it would of worked if it had not broke.
