XP reminds me of Elon Musk, making big promises, like the full auto drive capability for the Tesla, he keeps saying "next year Next year". Xp has been just as bad with this.

It seems the art of map and compass is getting lost. I sometimes will make a reduced copy (say 5-10 acres) of a topo-map, find where the closest road is and park, shoot a heading and walk in. Done that for years hunting and once you get to know an area its filed in my memory and not some cloud.
Taught all for kids how to use a compass and put some candy at the end of the course. Well it worked!!!

What exactly is the main purpose for the app and is there anyone planning to use it? I do hope XP puts out a guide to using it or makes an in-depth video ( in English

I'm not sure what functionalities the app is supposed to have, though the video teases the ability to document finds on a map, including what they rang up as, as well as the ability to lay that over other (older?) maps.
If it syncs with the Deus and can document those kinds of details, I'd give it a try.

I have an XP, love it. But.. I'm not going to ignore the negatives. I'm simply stating fact. It looks like it was originally called "Go Detect" . Seems it was released in 2015, and did not work, and they dropped it at that point. 7 years later, after promising it year after year, and making people think it's available if you read their website,it's still not available under the name " Go Terrain" in the USA.
This issue, along with it not being upgradable via a Mac, raises some red flags, in my opinion.
Also of note, I believe this board is to learn about metal detecting, critiquing and discussing the hobby and it's products and techniques. Since I am not a Metal detector, I would appreciate it if you would reframe from any ad ho·mi·nem attacks directed towards me. Lets keep this board friendly! Thanks!

Your criticisms of XP don’t bother me at all, and I’m more of an XP cheerleader. For any criticisms you can’t argue they’re not technically innovative. If all they see is praise they won’t try to fix anything either.

I've done windows, linux. unix, etc. I'm not looking to re-invent the wheel. Ease of use, and the best customer support in the computer world, it's apple. If I have a problem, they answer the phone within 2 minutes, and usually have an answer within 4. Once you try it, you'll be hooked!

If it tracks your grid pattern i would use it. I could see it helping on knowing wh4ere you were and were not. Its cool and could be a neat feature.

GPS in a Typical cell phone, with good open access to the sky, is only accurate to within 16 feet. If you want Cm accuracy like surveyors have, you have to subscribe to a service that runs about 9K a year, plus have a much more expensive GPS unit.
