I guess it really is true. You cant find silver unless you put your coil over it. My detecting buddy took my wife and I into a new spot.
The logging camp was from the 20's and was absolutely full of trash and axe heads. But under one little bush right in the middle of it all I found a sweet 1920s dime. Never again shall I complain about only finding Mercury dimes. Depth was around 5" and there was so much iron I could only swing back and forth a couple of inches between targets using the d2 coil. It pinpointed nice and tight, vdi around 78. Tough hunting ground but worth the effort. I dig all positive conductors hoping for a gold coin...maybe some day.
The v3i only fooled me one time today with one iron nail and I was rushing at the end. It is remarkable, the depth and target separation allowed me to grab brass rivets from Levi jeans at 4". Those little buggers sound just like a wheat cent, but I dont mind finding them. For some reason round shapes like the rivets and coins just lock on so much better than any thing else.
