It has been a long time since a have got to go relic hunting. I had a vacation day I had to take so I took it to go detecting. Hunted this spot for a little over a hour and it’s going to be a good one. I detected a lot before I found this spot. I walked for over two miles to get here. That is why only I only detected this spot for a short time. I found a Prussian 69 caliper and several round balls and a Minnie and a enfield. Also found a button with R. Jackson and Ind on it. I need help with if on it and the long lead piece. Also found a bunch of melted lead which is always a good sign. I also need a I’d on the bullet that has been modified with a square hole

Your two mile trip paid off !!! Super nice relics!!

Does anyone know what the lead Minnie with the square hole could have been made into? Or the long lead piece?

Interesting finds, congratulations!

Can’t help you on those pieces you asked about, but you made some great finds.
Last time I hiked that far to detect, I only found badly corroded IH cent… you did much better!!😂
I know of a long lost park you can hike too 🤭 you once found a beautiful IH cent but not much of anything else 😂😂

I figured out what the square hole is for in the bullet. It’s for removing the nipple on the gun I believe.

I have found those, they really used them for a nipple protector more than a removal tool.
