At last! 10K with zircons, but it's gold, and gold is gold no matter what carat it is. Hope this changes the gold slump i've been in. It was up in the dry sand at the bottom of a 10 foot sand berm. And I'm not sure how to spell Carat with a C or a K, somebody let me know. Thanks, Gene

Gene,

I think you are too modest. You always give credit to your detector which is the Ecal 11. In my humble opinon, it is not so much the detector, but the guy behind the detector. I busted my ass today and came up with zilch. But you and I both know, it is hard for us diehards to take "no" for an answer.

Great find. By the way...I'm glad you are not detecting in my neck of the woods. I would have to think twice about detecting behind you. I would probably decide to go search another beach. In fact, I'm sure I would.

Nice ring Gene! I agree- gold is gold, but I especially like rings over other types of jewelry. Not sure why. :confused:

Gene,Great find! Carat or karat can be spelt either way. Karat comes from the French word for karat, (which I cant remember, but it starts with a "k"). The "c" spelling is the Anglicised version, and is used in many English-speaking countries outside the USA. The meaning of carat and karat is exactly the same (ie a measure of the purity of gold, and also the measure of the weight of gems), so you can use whichever spelling you like. HH

Furious T., Thanks for the spelling, My wife said I could use either also, So each time I get a gold ring I'll alternate the spelling LOL. Tanks again,Gene

its a great start.....:clapping::detecting:
im sure theres more to come....:thumbup:
good luck

K is for Karat as in 14K (karat) gold.
C is for Carat as in C .36 (carats) diamonds.

Both markings were found inside this ring and you will often find this inside rings with ice.
