Finally getting the ace 350 figured out.

I spent most of the day out beeping, and found 52 coins. All recent coins with the exception of one 1948 wheatie and a 1956 quarter. The quarter was my first silver... ever! I am a lot more comfortable with the DD coil now, and pinpointing is a piece of cake. I'm wondering now how I managed to make it so difficult before!!

Some have problems going from concentric coils to DD coils with pinpointing. Like you said, it is easy now.

My 350 is being delivered this week, I`m glad that you like yours. Do you all have any advise for a newbie.

To Bgriiffin...I'm one week in with a 350...MY first detector.......Do alot of diggin and head scratchin at first...........I went in coin mode.Factory settings..Could not pinpoint worth a crap......Now I'm slowly getting the sounds.......Able to pinpoint good at times.....Others I have to redig...root around...Just started increasing my sensitivity and found some a bit deeper but no silver.......If ya get hooked like I did after about a week I think you be moving....Good luck and happy hunting...The guys on here have alot of experience and advice.......Good you joined this forum

Pinpointing is a snap and you don't even need to press pinpoint. Just center the target side to side then drag the coil straight back wiggling it side to side as you go. When the signal stops the target will be under the front center tip of the coil. Piece of cake. Also try lowering your sensitivity to 4-5 bars.

McDave, here is a scan of my quarter... the wheatie is in horrible condition, and the other coins are just clad. Also included in the photos is a kiwanis token thingey that I found in the same area as the silver. I think it's aluminum, but it was still a neat find. The 350 is really growing on me. I have a really hot location that I am going to get a shot at, but it is a manicured lawn, so I'm going to wait on my propointer to come in before I go to that one. (hoping to keep the lawn perfect... one mistake and I'll probably not get to hunt it a second time!)
