I'm just getting started. have had my machine for three days. followed some instructions off you tube and my ground at my house here in Kelso, WA. , s.w. WA. says -93. all freq. read 11.3-5 %. At my park, just 1/4 mi. down my street the readings are -95 and all three freq. are in the 30+ range. the manual suggest 10 freq at my home and 12+ at the park. not too much emi except at a school i was at that read the same as my park. the school is about 7-8 miles away. I'm surprised at JamesBondakas filter level.
I'm just learning the machine so cut me some slack here. Nickel count went up. took the filter down to 7 yesterday thinking how smart i was. then went home and read the book and found that i should be at the pre-set of 10. all based on my home readings. then this a.m. went to the park and zooowwweee!!! so took the filter up to 12 high. also went to 22 freq. because of slight emi affected the 2 freq. found a couple more nickels. took this set up to the school and had pulsating emi affecting all three freq. this would be the time to off-set the freq. correct??

Hey widebody, Two questions for you, what are the VDI numbers you're getting on nickels before and after switching you filters there in WA. and lastly, what detecting mode are you using. You say that your using several freq?

Thanks for you time,

TC-NM

I'll try to say things correctly. might not come out that way. I'm using relic mode. I've had my nickels in the 50's and my pennies in the 83-85 range. all clad. my nickels do hit 19 & 22 a couple of times and that's why i dug them. that and it was a good solid signal and the polar plot showed up good. no wiggles and nice line to the right and up. I'm really putting the polar plot to the test. still getting bottle caps though but I'm just learning so it's all school days again and the machine is a challenge.
I'm trying out different freq based on the emi test from earthmansurfer69 on you tube. gotta say that is a challenge around here. now i found my one and only Ben half at 8"at a church property 2 yrs ago so i know the D2 can get that far down. and my first Rosie was at 6" with a ML 8x6 SEF at the same school as i was at last night. so this machine should be able to get that far down. but targets must be down there to be found and that's the only confirmation you got that depth. not there yet.
Again on the nickels. i was using all three freq at first then started being so smart and fooling around with settings. i then switched to the 22 freg and hunted for a while finding a couple of more nickels. i was going to give it the ol' college try today but was sidetracked by grand kids. even went to Portland, Oregon and found some of JamesBondaka's pennies. he's gunna have to work a little longer finding those millions of pennies. i got 18 of them and one qtr.even the clad qtr. was at 91-92 my one saver was polar plot. when i remember to use it it saved me a lot of digging. now one has to ask if it also stopped me from digging a good target? that may have to come with experience and time. the more info i put out here the more someone can spot maybe what i may be doing wrong. i'll be trying to pay more attention to the readings and such.
One question here. What is Correlation vs Best something?

Found the answers in the manual. it's amazing what you find out by reading instructions. like i found out i'm not so smart after all.

Did I put 5 filter?.....I meant to put 10....See your learning....you caught my error. Using 5 in my area will certainly cut down on the depth....in most circumstances.

Hey...those are my pennies! I have founds thousands of them....I figure they are all mine! lol

I like best data and I think you doing just fine....just give it some more time! I think you will be finding good stuff pretty soon!
