Ferrous number reliability

Although I do miss the differentiations provided by the Explorer TID, I've found Target Trace on the CTX provides results similar to those we could get with the "bouncing cursor" on the Explorer. I think this was a big improvement over the "flat line ferrous" display on the ETRAC. Add this to Combined audio, and being able to one-click into a second Pattern with minimal discrimination, and it seems to be a pretty decent "substitute" for the lie detector. JMHO HH Randy

My wish list is kept under lock and key.:ninja:
Actually, since day-1 with the CTX, I've kept a notebook with different ideas and suggestions that I thought would be of benefit to the majority of detectorists. Although some of them never came to fruition, many were incorporated into the finished product. Hats off to Minelab for listening! Try as we might, not everyone has agreed with some of suggestions that were incorporated. But when you look at how far this detector evolved from the ETRAC, I think everyone who has learned the functionality would agree it has raised the bar substantially. HH Randy

I'm with you Randy.

I don't agree with the subject line, I much prefered the SE over the ET because of the S curve that I have become accustomed to ............. BUT, I would not turn back the technological clock on the CTX just to get it back. The 12 line makes it very easy to program your favorite cherry picking programs and with Combined Audio and Target Trace, the CTX is the best detector I have used to date.

Wow, when I started this thread I didn't think it would take off like this. I guess a lot of us are snowed in.

Anyway it got me thinking a little more. Once the snow clears out (soon I hope) I going to run another program in 4 tone Fe and 35 Fe. Then toggle back and forth from my combined GC program just to see if I can squeak out a little more information of what I think are possible good targets with high Fe numbers.

There is a lot of different combinations and options with the CTX I have used before. I don
