I have a whites IDX Pro black max 950 and it has been running perfect until last night, I was doing some detecting on my local beach. And I switched the machine off and it made the clicking sound to tell me it was off . But sins last night I have tried to turn it back on but all it dose it keep spinning it doesn't come back on . Can anyone give me any advice , on what I can do to fix this or where I can take it to be fixed ?. I understand it's an old machine but any advice would be great I live in

There is no other problem with the machine it has a new set of batterys so it's not that the cable is on properly it is literally just down to the power nob , as I said it made the little click sound off but won't click on it just keeps twisting . Thank you for reading my post

If you have a local radio shop that does repairs or a local ham radio guy they could check out the switch for you. Should be a minimal charge.

Sounds like the switch in the pot is broken. So what you need is a 100k lin potentiometer with switch if you want it to have original,
or just add a switch replacing the broken one inside the pot. Both parts are a few bucks each.
I'd take listeners advice if you're not comfy in electronic and soldering.

I believe Centerville electronics has that off /on switch for sale in their site, authentic whites product and cheap
