Most of the finds shown are from hitting it hard toward the end of last week. Temps were 26-38 degrees with a brutal 20-25 mph wind all weekend. There was no snow though and the ground was still soft.
All finds are from public sites with my Minelab eTrac metal detector.
My favorite find was that saddle bronc rider pin. It is a 1930s "Hickock" brand tie clip pin. It was about 6 inches deep and read like an Indian penny. I had found a 1912 dime, a 1904 Indian head and that sterling ring in the same
area so I thought it was going to be another Indian head penny. The silver heart locket was also unexpected as I thought It would be a wheat penny.
The 1897 Quarter was pulled from a Minnesota Fairgrounds and was right next to multiple nails and surrounded by junk.
The wind was beating me up by the end of the weekend but the exercise and some of the finds still made it fun.
That pendant which appears to be a plated gold nugget was found at an old school the weekend before. It read similar to a wheat penny.
Thanks for taking a look!
Dave
