Quick isn't always quality. We have become so conditioned to wanting things FAST. That's one reason I like visiting third world countries because they often bring me back to reality!

I almost alluded to that in my post but resisted.....I agree 100%!

Hi, Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that Minelab called me today. They said that they found the problem, and will fix it, and I should have it in my hands by Fri. That's about 3 weeks. I didn't expect it back until Nov. I'm very happy

My plumber gets $95.00 an hour & the clock starts from the shop

Now thats cheap, we get $125 here:biggrin:

That's 'cause you're up north. I only get $95. an hour here in the South, but it's enough. I sent my old Explorer xs in for repair. ML got it on the 7th, I should have it back Wed. Only $65 for repairs, & I thought it was totally fried.

I was involved in the Minelab repair snafu back in 2010. Which was partly cause by the relocation and lack of water tanks for pressure testing to 300 ft. They have since added more pressure tanks. Minelab has (in my case and other here also)made restitution during this short period of trouble. I also a realist the Excalibur paid for its self in 3 months. Other machines I have owned of 38 years hunting never did that! It was a no brainer for me I when right out and bought a Minelab GT as a backup. It paid for its self 3 times over in 4 weeks! So I bought another Excalibur in case the first one needs to be sent in for repair. The amount of treasure (money) these machines find basically make them throw away's! Think about it wait for the machine to be repaired, and use a lessor machine and find 100 bucks month. Or spend 1300 bucks and the right machine and keep finding 1000 bucks a month! And have two of them. If your truck breaks and you can't work you get another. I hope Minelab has learned from Garrett that 96% of the water detectors are use in 10 ft or less water, and market one for that purpose! I think 1 month to get your machine repaired is a great time frame!
