Excal II volume

Shambler

New member
Anyone go from an Excal to an Excal II and notice a decrease in volume. The reason I ask is I bought a used Excal II in the spring and just took it out this past weekend. It was kind of hard to hear - I would've preferred it be a lot louder. Then I listen to my buddies.Excal I and it can be turned up so loud it's uncomfortable. Does anyone have an idea?

Seems to be a issue with the new batch. Friend just got one of the new ones, same problem. BNY also, sent his in for repair..Came back with a problem with the volume, lower then when he got it new, a year ago. They move to Malaysia, maybe a new supplier on main boards? Or is it the Head Phones? BNY, I think, just sent his to Mr. GoldMaster for the Peltor upgrade, hoping this would cure the problem...I'll Pm him and check the status........................

It's sad to say that minelab has one of the better unnder water machines and the worst headphones I'v ever used. the tone is very hard to get used to and the sound is not crisp. I blower my 1st generation excal (the on with the sword) so I put the red headphones on my excal II. I love those babies. Minelab put a lot of technolege into there units and skimpped on the hesdphone. Just my opinion the should goback to the tone from the 1st gen headphones. It don't matter what color it's the performance that counts. Aloha, mano HH

Just purchased a new machine from Kellyco and alsmost did not get the excal for that reason. The one on the showroom floor was pitiful. The one they brought out will knock your socks off. Obviously it varies from one set to next. By the way. I am now on machine two since Friday. The first one when the headphones submersed would false. Keelyco stood behind it no problem. I think everyone should lidsten to the machine they are buying and if they do not get a good tone ask for another

Upon further inspection - the volume is basically off until the midway point, so it appears I'm stuck at about half volume. I can't send it in now - I'm still hunting and I know they're going to keep it for a couple of months... dang it.
