Glad to see that. I haven't been finding much of anything for the past 6 weeks. So I left Cayman islands to come home and see family here in the States for a couple of weeks. I was fortunate enough to be one of the few to receive a new excal II from Kellyco. I have to say that everyone that works there in the Winter Springs/Deland store are top notch. Nothing to say but good things to say about the group of folks that work there. So I picked up my new excal on my way from Tampa airport to Flagler beach. I was smart enough to bring the battery off my older excal so I could hunt the next morning. However, I was not smart enough to have went ahead to bought a real scoop also. I'm not knocking the smaller travel size scoops....but they really suck. I have a real scoop but left it at home on island. So after bending over for 4 hours or so the next day, my back was not feeling so good. Not really wanting to drive back to Kellyco, I called the O.K. pawn shop in Daytona, which carried some heavy duty scoops and rent metal detectors....Got there and met Wes Wade. He also is president of a MD club. Really nice guy and gave me a great deal on a nice BIG scoop, and saved my back in the process. Now I have a nice scoop for both places. I have not had any luck, yet, aside from being extremely happy with the new toy. Hopefully I will have some goodies of my own to show here again soon. Keep it everyone and thanks for showing me pics of the good stuff. It's what keeps me going through my dry times...

Later,
Chris

I bought a Minelab GT from Wes Wade at OK pawn recently. Real straight shooter and nice guy. Bought it on Craigslist sight unseen and was not disappointed. If you are in the Daytona area look him up.

Good luck with your new excal 2

I know and can't wait. I have an older original NY excal with the red headphones. It works great but It leaks around one of the knobs. So I haven't been able to go under with it. I was thinking about sending it back to minelab and see if they can fix it but wanted another one while I send the old one off...I've heard about the customer service with Minelab. I also got the over/under Anderson shaft for the new one, I'm liking it also.

Minelab stopped doing repairs on the older Excaliburs. They told me that they can't get the O-rings that go on the control shafts. ~John
