Etrac screen damage

Has anyone ever damaged their e trac screen? If so can the screen face be ordered from somewhere? It still works fine but it's very annoying when I'm trying to look at the numbers. I accidentally gauged my Lesche digger into it. Not being careful.

Amazing.. I just did the same thing to mine... except my lesche was in my trunk with my e-trac.. I usually throw the digger in a rubbermaid container but I must have missed. Now I have a spot on the screen that wont go away. If you do send it in and don't mind sharing, please let me know the costs involved.

I damaged a sceen on "the other brand" detector by having it in the back seat of the truck with other items....replacement/repair was about $65 with shipping...I imagine Etrac would be similar..

I've inquired within the last month as my Etrac screen has a small dent. Cost is $125 postpaid but you still have to drop another $25 to ship it to Minelab. My damage is minor so the $150 total is not worth it for me.

Whew.. ~$150 is a bit steep, but I figured as much. I'll see where I'm at with my clad totals at the end of the season and maybe sent it in come Winter. What I don't understand is why they didn't protect the LCD more than just the flimsy thin piece of plastic membrane over it. Plexi would have saved alot of trouble.... Hmm getting me thinking about a possible mod.

Another note: mine was caused by shipping damage through the USPS. They cut me a check for the repair but won't cover the shipping charges, which are obviously significant!

My son threw his cleats in the trunk and it caused the left side of my screen not to show up (to faint to see with one part that just doesnt work). It makes it hard to see the power number setting. It works just fine, just have a harder time with manual sensitivity setting. Any thoughts or is sending it in the only option?
