Earning Your Wings

One of the two boys that I consider the closest thing I will ever have as sons is heading for Iraq next weekend. Great time for a young man, serving his country and testing himself but tough on those that stay behind.

you! Whenever he decides to try something different like this, I just hold my breath and pray for the best!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm799YYCA' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_2_102v.gif' alt='Son & Mother' border=0></a>

comments just to keep him pumped up and proud of what he does!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm799YYCA' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_3_23.gif' alt='' border=0></a>

I am proud, on the other hand I stay terrrified that something will happen to him. But I have to keep in mind, should that ever happen, I know these were things he wanted to accomplish in his life. I have heard about "Jump School" for a number of years now. He had a few rocky landings, but many more good ones. He still had a cut beside his eye where his gun hit him when the chute opened the first time. He would not let me make a fuss over it though, although I am sure he called "momma", or something like that when it happened. He was really sore.

I hate that the young man you care so much about is destined for Iraq, but just tell him thank you from all of us, and we'll be praying for his safe return!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm799YYCA' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_15_54.gif' alt='Eagle' border=0></a>
