Eagle pin recovery

Found this nice little brass eagle pin on a plantation site in South Carolina’s low country. The site had confederate and Union camps. Any thoughts as to the origin? Thanks for looking.

That is very interesting and seems to have some age to it. It looks more like a Dove to me.
 
I could be very wrong... But to me... It doesn't look like an eagle... I feel it looks more like a swallow... I was able to find one example of a small brass swallow online that looks something like the one that was found... The "Swallow Tailed Kite"... Which Live in this area.... Looks remarkably Like an Eagle... Great Find Sir...:thumbup:
