E trac or Vision

Well I bought the e trac and will still keep my xlt.Just wanted a few opinions. After playing with the e trac in my backyard for an hour, I see its gonna take some getting used to.

Both Whites and Gary here at Findmall overrode Larry's position and all parties recognize that feedback - positive or negative - is worthwhile and adds value to the forums. Larry has offered his apology and posts are staying up as they are made . . . . . and remember, Larry also uses both the Vision and the Minelab's so he, as do many long time hunters, uses what works and not necessarily what is the latest from a specific manufacturer.

I think many know me by name and know what I have been swinging for many years . . . . . . and recently I have been trying the Vision and seeing how it fits with my hunting style, preferences and areas . . . . . . . If anyone that has actually used a Vision can say - after it has only been available for a few weeks - that it is clearly not on par with whatever brand / model they are currently using (with way more hours on it), then those statements are simply brand loyalty speaking and not valid in-field experience. I am learning a ton each time I go out and am often seen on the cell phone calling one of the more savvy Vision users for some real-time tips on what I am seeing.

There will be a LOT to be learned about what the Vision is capable of and until many months go by and more is gained from actual usage around the world, I do not see where the final word can be written . . . . . . and even then, it is in one person's area and for one person's type of hunting.

Just a perspective . . . . .

Although you already have a Minelab, the Etrac is different. So don't give up on it for at least 50 hours of hunting. You WILL learn the machine's characteristics and then will know what you have probably targeted BEFORE you dig it. I say probably because there are many objects which mimic others. HH
