Today I hunted the site of a one-room schoolhouse that is shown on an early 1900's plat map. The map showed the location of the schoolhouse to be at the intersection and right next to the road. I began hunting with the F75 in All Metal Mode and quickly realized there were very few targets in this area. There was an obvious "high ground" area about 200 yards farther from the road and I decided this would be a better spot to put a school building. As I got close to the "high spot" area, the ground was full of single digit targets which made hunting in All Metal almost impossible. I switched over and set the Disc. to 15 and began hunting in 2L Tones to quiet down the iron signals. I concentrated on digging the repeatable targets that were above 25. The first target was an Indian Head that gave a solid 48-51 reading. After digging two flat buttons, I hit the first Large Cent that gave a nice 73 reading,followed by another Indian head that had mid 50's numbers. The 1850 Large Cent came next and it too was a solid hit in the mid 70's. The ground was not very kind to the coins in this field. The plat map location was somewhat off but it was close enough to get me on the right spot today. I feel this schoolhouse dates from the mid 1800's and may have been in use for 60-70 years, so there should be more to be found and maybe a silver or two......Thanks for looking
