Should be able to get 134.00 off the 800 series with the vets discount. I plan on getting my discount.

yep.. which brings the price down to $764.15 off. Ask nicely and you'll also probably get them to throw in a Minelab carry bag for free...

My dealer has the same offer on the CTX 15% + 5% repeat customer and a free 17" coil. Hope he works the same deal on the Equinox.

Thanks for letting me know about the veteran discount. I either didn't know about it or forgot about it. I can't remember which. I'm a Navy aircraft carrier veteran. USS Coral Sea CV-43. 1975 - 1981.

Thanks for the info, I'll pas it on. Do you have to supply any documentation to verify Vet status?

you dont need a vet discount. Call a dealer and ask for the best price. If you are paying MSRP, you are WAAAAY overpaying.

If the vet discount is coming directly from ML, wonder if dealer would give you good deal and also get you the vet discount?

My dealer says 15% and 5% repeat customer. Must show the DD 214. he usually gives me 10% on everything so I feel like he is clipping me!!! After 3 grand spent, over a 3 year period, I'm open for a new dealer!!! :hot::blowup:

Is the vet discount from minelab or is it certain dealers?

same here, Vietnam Vet, Navy AirWing attached to the Midway, CVA-41 1970, 71, 72 cruises....dang, that was certainly an experience!

The way I understand it is Minelab offering 15%. it applies to the CTX also along with a free 17" coil according to my dealer.

I believe this is a a discount that started this year. It shows the discount on some dealers for all minelab. If it is not valid on them somebody from minelab let me know on this site. you can generate a letter of vet proof on Ebenefits if U have access to it. It tells dates of service etc. MMe Air Force 1985-1993. Signals Analyst (NSA type). I don't mind paying near retail price minus the discount from minelab. My dealer has always been great with me as giving me great discounts, free shipping no tax. this will be such a huge detector I will have no problem paying around 750 a 800. You might be able to get the new pinpointer and still come in at lower than the retail price.

I wonder if the 15% off is off the MAP (Min advertised price) which is the retail price as some call it. Now Minelab is letting the dealer advertise 15% off that price to the veterans, not a 15% off that Minelab will send you back like a rebate. To tell this is make the best deal with your dealer without telling that you are a veteran, then after you make the deal then mention that you get a 15% off as you are a veteran and see what they say.
I know Minelab will not let any dealer advertise their selling price as you notice they all say call for the best price in their advertising as you can sell for what they want, but they can advertise no less than the MAP price in any advertising to make it fair for all the dealers, so now with the 15% off for veterans has been OKed with Minelab to advertise this for the dealers they can figure this in on their selling price when making the deal.
This is the way I look at it anyway and can be very wrong too,

Rick

After spending 1967 through 1970 in Nam in the Delta its about time some of these Manufacturer's give a little discounts to Vets

I personally would like to thank ML or the dealers. I spent 22 great years serving our country. Every time someone offers me a military discount im humbled.

U.S. Army Afghanistan combat vet here. My "discount" is the pride I have from my service. I'll pay the same price everyone else pays, thanks.
