Does Anybody Actually Go Detecting With Their CTX 3030?

It's not that the E-Trac has bad pinpointing. I've just used detectors with better pinpointing. By that I mean I could size it better as well as they seemed less affected by iron in the ground. The V3i's pinpointing was much worse imo. But the Omega's pinpointing was better.

Your poor pinpointing might be technique and not the machine.

I don't understand why you swing the coil and walk in circles while pinpointing. You should be able to stand still, press the pinpoint button and hover the coil over the target until you find the target is dead center and dig. You should not be off more than an inch.

Hey DWATSON4... suggested retail price $1850.00? I was quoted $2499 for wireless model? Can you PM me where you got yours for 1850? Thanks, MIke

I think that is the value he would put on the CTX not how much he paid. I'll take one for $1850 too, if that were the case. $649 would be a great discount.

Koss must provide those things for free to Minelab. :| Good feedback Watson. Is there as much falsing as the Etrac? I get quite a bit of tone one direction only to have it go quiet on the reverse pass. That would be a plus of the FBS2 if it helps. Any change in the swing speed you can get away with or about the same as the Etrac?
Based on the little over an hour I have behind my CTX, yes it does false as much. In fact I have dug 3 ghost holes.... target just vanished. I think I just need to get a bit more time on it to understand what it is telling me.

It seems as thought the price could be $1850. I received an answer that the dealers are not given a low number threshhold, but a suggested retail. Need to check it out for yourself, I guess. Thanks, mIke
