do you leave your detector in your trunk even in the summer months?

I've seen TX heat in a trunk melt the plastic top parts of a tape deck to
a distorted blob.. And these were pretty hard plastic. Was an old
60's Webcor that was left in the trunk at Six Flags over Texas
back about 1968.. Course then, it wasn't an old deck.. :wacko::/
And the deck was in a case too.. We are talking serious hot..
Probably 140-150+ degrees or more I bet. I remember the high temp
that day was 108 degrees.. Was a scorcher in Dallas that day.

The trunk in my present Corolla is probably the coolest trunk I've
had so far. It's insulated, even under the trunk lid. I don't think I ever
had another car that had an insulated trunk lid before..
It's got that fuzzy black trunk carpet wall to wall, floor to lid..
Seems to really help keep the temps down in the trunk.
The color of the car will make a difference too.. A white car will
run a good bit cooler than a black or other dark color.
