:wiggle:The wireless headphones are great but boy they are hot. A set of backphones would be perfect for summer and u can wear any type hat u want. I wear a large straw hat to keep the sun off ms neck. Anyone else thik this would be a great item. I would buy one fore sure!::yo:

You will probably have to go to wired backphones for your needs, aftermarket transmitters might be an option too. I would really be surprised if Whites would bring wireless backphones on the market. The ones I'm familiar with were so flimsy, I was afraid they were going to break at any time. On the other hand, if they were built any stronger, they would be heavy on the ears and would hurt to use them.

I wear Sony Studio Headphones which were $20 at Walmart. They are just like regular full sized headphones only about 1/2 the size and so VERY comfortable and don't make my ears sweat in the summer like full sized ones. These aren't Walkman style headphones, but rather smaller full-sized style headphones. The audio on these things is also the best I've ever used on any detector, so I hunt year round with them.

Great news for me larry. I bought a set for another detector that was mono and wouldnot work for it but because the v is stero it works great! Its two peices one small transmitter i velcroed to the v and another peice the size of half a cell phone i can plug anY headphone into even earbuds. Run the wire under my shirt and clip the cell phone cover i put the reciver in to my belt. Sound quality is awesome for a 10.00 china device!:detecting:

I'm glad it worked out for you and love your avatar .

This hhas been a great day for me. I found out yesterday the v i traded for was no longer under warranty but whites emailed me today to let me know that i now have a two year warranty! I LOVD WHITES!!!!!!!!!!!!! "!!!!! NO other company in the business does anything like that.:bouncy:

Jmann, got a link or a brand on that headset transmitter?

I too am looking for a wireless setup for my v3i, and over-the-ear style headphones are simply too hot where I live. I already use hard-wired earbuds, but severing that link would be amazing.

Not a lot of that information anymore.

I'm using a set of TDK on the ear wireless headphones (cooler in the heat). They work great, are wireless and the transmitter is just a little big bigger than a 50 cent piece and plugs into the headphone jack on my VX3. I was hoping I might be able to trick it into working with the built in Whites transmitter in my detector but couldn't get the hand shaking to work. A couple of AAA batteries lasts about 40 hours.
TDK WR700 Wireless High Fidelity Headphones from Amazon- got them for $85 including shipping.
