And that's just plain cool, Kered. I'm an electronic tinkerer myself. As a long time ham operator, most of my main radio peripherals are tossed together in the shack, ae antennas, tuners amplifiers, keyers etc. I may have put my case together a little to strong for the Garrett, but that thing is awesome. I fooled around with the other brands cause Garrett wanted way too much for theirs. I wasn't about to pay $127.45 for one. But I did. The first time I let my kid use it, you should have seen the big grin that spread all over his face. So what ever you do, don't tell me you use something better! I don't think I could take it now Thanks for the comments.

LOL. look you came in here crapped on my little DIY project and said that the garrett is so much better. Well yea it is or everyone would have one of my little projects. Well LLoyd H. Unless you taste the forbidden wine, you'll be happy with your "Ripple" Like I said before I had my Harbor Freight perking right a long. The little vibrator I bought on E-bay worked out super good on the Harbor. If I'd never experienced the Pro, would've been happy with the Harbor.

Y...........You have a nice day too. My Chevvy is in really, a Scion XB with the rear seat ripped out and stuffed with electronic "baldergarb" when I'm doing my trade, and loaded with metal detectors, gold pans, sluice boxes and a special place for my Garrett Propointer when I'm on holiday. Oh, did I tell you about my Garrett Pro pointer

Its not fancy but It works just fine, no discrimination but will pinpoint, in fact a few years one detector company was selling these.
