Went out beeping at a hunted out park. Lots of trash probably discouraged others from staying put. Removed some trash for this beauty to show up at 5-1/2 inch depth. If your digging old stuff, good old stuff has to be there too.

It is amazing how much good stuff is under the trash...... on the 63 half Steve.

Is that a FRANKLIN Steve?:lol::rofl: BIG congrats to you! HH, Nancy

Excellent find under the bottle tops. I've done similarly digging the trash out to find something fun underneath.

I am humbled that someone took to heart my digging a litle trash to get treasure. Here is an email I received.

Steve, last night, 9-20-10, I saw your picture of the half and bottle caps. I told my wife I'd dig eight bottle caps to find one half dollar! So today I went out for an hour to a practice field and detected where the people sit. I dug eight bottle caps and a half dollar! Someone had started to make a ring out of it, I thought it had a bezel on it until I washed the dirt off. Of course there was a lot of clad and pull tabs also. I just think it so weird that I found the same as you. Hope you find some more good things I can copy!

This site has his and my picture of our halves and trash.

That is so ironic and what a bummer that the rim is pounded down, but that makes it unique I guess.
