Digging Tool

Has anyone EVER heard of a Lesche breaking ??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! :goodnight: They're built to last. CCH

I need a shovel and I'm convinced I need to buy the Lesche Ground Shark. Has anyone here ever used the 28" length model? I want something short enough that I can strap to my backpack.

I have the 32 inch. It is a good strong digger. Don't use it much. I think the 28 inch would work fine.

I had a ground shark. It's ok as long as you don't have to dig any deeper than the length of the blade. Try to dig any deeper and the foot pad gets in the way by catching on the edge of the hole. I'm using the Samson model now and really like it. I'd like to have one that is like the Samson but with straight sides rather that tapered.

HH, Crispy

I use a modified Hori Hori digger !

Howdy - where would yo buy a Hori Hori Knife... if you did not want to buy one off the internet?

Thanks!

Good luck finding one in a store. If it was me, here's what I'd do: Go on-line to Wal-Mart and place an order and have it shipped to your nearest Wal-Mart. Shipping is free. They send you an email when it arrives. Take the pickup number from the e-mail and go to the pickup office at the rear of the store. They'll retrieve your item. Inspect it and if it meets your approval, take it. If it doesn't, have them take the charge off your card right then and there. If you accept the item they give you a receipt and the item has the same return policy as anything bought at Wal-Mart. I live in the middle of nowhere and do this all the time. My Hori Hori knife is on order right now.

The lesche is a good tool I have had mine about 4 months but I have one or two issues or improvements that it could use.One the steel is two soft it does not hold a edge I have had to sharpen mine at least 10 times at this pace I will be buying a new one every two years. The blade should be at least 2 inches longer for us minelab users maybe call it the Minelab addition.I did not buy my lesche from predator tools so maybe my version has softer metal?I do not think the serrated side is very good at root cutting I think it needs a different design but I do not know what that improvment would be. Went back to carrying pruner.

I think Kellyco uses the free stuff like a bait & switch to get buyers to buy detectors that the manufacturers won't allow dealers to lower the price below a certain level. I say bait, They offer "$$$ worth of Free Stuff" and switch "because the freebies turn out to be nowhere near the quoted value or quality". I've purchased 2-3 detectors from them over the years, and have always been disappointed in the quality of the freebies. I would prefer a decent discount on the machine and they could keep their freebies. IMO Skip

Some great advice as always. Thanks. Joel, what "mods" did you do to your Hori Hori Knife? RKW... is that the same knife as being sold on Amazon - seems they have two one is supposedly sharp edge (you can cut yourself) and the other is "safer". Any idea?

Thanks!

There is some ambiguity in the ad. The picture shows the black carbon steel version, and the specifications also list it as a black carbon steel. The description uses the words stainless steel. The stainless steel comes from the factory with a very sharp edge. I'm guessing it's the black carbon steel version and I'll have to put an edge on it.
