Digging Detroit's Lost Treasures

My SKS with 30 round clips have gone with me . The key hear is in the winter the weather plays a big role as to the risk you may have . And a bunch of guys mostly white looks like COPS . And go early and leave early is always our rule . Iv hunted Palmer Park , Patton Park , Clark Park , Owen Park And yes I do look over my sholder alot . Heck three years ago detecting Plamer I had just dug a walker 1921 when I heard a guy cussing up a storm I looked up to watch him shoot with what looked like a 9 mil at a car speeding away . my Cop buddy from the 9th told me to just waite with all the demolition work there will be very large areas with no one to bother . Once they get the clearing started mind you . I'm trying to get grunt work with two of the companys one being Beal why not have a frount row seat to getting the goodies . And with a crew working lunch breaks will be spent digging the good stuff . My buddy Tom would go into Palmer Park late in the day and never had trouble . Trust me he looked like the heat sad thing it wasn't the bad streets of Detroit that took him . The beach of Caseville where he drowned detecting the surf . R.I.P Tom ....

There s a boatoad of parks there that are no longer parks. We have worked places that were ballfields in the 20's that are nothing but forests now, and yes, we have done well.
What the above poster said is the key: go in early, leave early. The city was growing exponentially in the teens and twenties. LOTS of places to hunt.
