Well, looks like the show diggers has given our hobby a black eye in the world of archaeology. Last night I googled the show to see if any more episodes were going to be aired and found a string of negative publicity for the show. There is even a facebook page titled "Stop National Geographic Looting Show". I believe this show has definitely given our hobby a black eye. I feel like we had our chance to show the world the code of ethics we as serious treasure hunters live by. These goons were digging holes 10 times the size of their targets which is just rediculus. There they were on some unbelievable places I would give anything to hunt on and acted like they were at the local tot lot hunting clad coins and the occasional children's ring. I feel like we had our chance to show the world our exciting hobby in a professional light and "they" blew it. I'm just ashamed they were using AT Pro's. I don't want to see Garret's good name even being affiliated with them. To me these guys look like a couple of Academy Bounty Hunter goons that don't deserve to represent our hobby to the public. What a shame. Here is the link to the letter to NatGeo from the Chairman and CEO of the Society for American Archaeology. http://saa.org/Portals/0/SAA/Press/Diggers.pdf
