Did I junk my Outlaw?

Glad to hear the Outlaw is running again. I dropped my phone in the river once and it was completely dead. To my surprise after putting it in the oven for a while at the lowest setting it fired up and has worked for years since. I think if it is working well now you should be good to go.

Don't know about that screw, but Radio Shack and probably other outlets carry knobs that will fit the shaft just fine and have a slotted screw which any smallish screwdriver will fit.

ok here is the correct procedure.......
1 assuming its clean and not filled with wet mud,,,
2 you can open the face plate and place the unit in a container filled with white rice. the rice will draw out the moisture.
uncooked rice that is....
3 remove it from the rice and put it back together and it shoud be fine...

Remember Never turn it on while its wet and dirty.
If the unit was filled with mud you could use di water and rinse it off completely and then immerse in rice till dry.
if still wet change the rice and dry again...

I actually may have spoken too soon. I am now getting a really ragged threshold sound in all metal, almost like EMI. I may end up having to send it in to Rusty after all.

I gave you a tip about your all-metal threshold a while back, I have found a way to get a good threshold in ALL METAL when switching from Disc.mode . The first thing to do is to go to AUTO then back to ALL METAL. This works on my Outlaw, ymmv........

...I was talking to Monte on the phone last night, and we both agreed that while the Outlaw had many attributes of the Bandido ll microMax, the Disc circuit closely mimics the original Bandido. He does not care for the lower frequency audio output and "RETUNE" button on the Outlaw, otherwise, he thinks the Outlaw is OK.

I agree about the Retune button. I may end up trading for a Tejon or other Tesoro because of it.

I actually never use it....No need to when using the cleansweep...

I have to say I don't use the retune button either not that I have any trouble with it. The 3 position switch does everything you need to do all in one switch. I just flip the switch to autotune and back to disk. Pretty easy and I actually like the one switch for all three modes of the Outlaw better than the two switch setup of the bandido 2 micromax. The retune button is nothing special and does the exact same thing the switch does so it is not a big deal to me at all. When I do use it I don't try to do the half way position but push it clear in to go to auto tune mode.

retune what is that that red button, I agree I use it once in a blue moon. don't use any red buttons on a Tesoro I thought that was the kill switch

that red button is the emergency kill switch when the Outlaw overheats...LOL !!!
