Diamond Platinum Ring

Without the markings inside the band I had to trot out my
formerly trusty gold testing machine. It didn't find any gold in the ring.
At 9.1 grams I should have figured it was too light to be platinum.
The size vs. the weight should have been a dead give away.
The jeweler, who now has the ring for a resize, busted my bubble. He wrote that it was 14K
on the receipt. Fortunately, I never mentioned that I thought it was a platinum ring to him.
I'll be looking on eBay for a new tester.
Oh, yeah...those 8 stones are diamonds.
