DFX Coil for the beach?

S.S.Tupperware

New member
Got a new DFX to compliment the DF, but I want a bigger coil than the stock 9.5 , was looking at the SEF lines so what say you owners of the DFX? I am looking to cover more ground, I don't mind a lil trade off in depth since I still have the DF...

Hey tupperware...you should PM CJC he regularly uses a dfx beach hunting. I would try a Bigfoot coil for coverage or maybe an SEF 12x15. Just MHO.

I would not go larger than the 12" DD coil,
Turn the sensitivity back a bit ... you dont need 12" depth for the beach.
You are looking for recently lost jewelry and that wont be much deeper than 6" at the most.
Covering as much ground as you can is the key to success in the dry sand.
The more you can search ... the more you will find ... and that is the big secret to finding gold at the beach.

I dont use the bigfoot or beachsweeper type of coils because they are not sensitive to the small stuff like gold earing studs that can hold a big diamond.
