deus one an deus two

As a long time and proficient user of the D1, I will say that the fast multi frequency platform of the D2 offers several advantages. You can find lots of info on the technical differences between the two platforms, so I won't go into that. I will say that the D2 brought my old worn out sites back to life. These sites have no easy targets left, but the D2's unmasking abilities made them worth hunting again.

Besides being waterproof an MF, What is the advantage of the D2 vs D1?
Its definitely the MultiFrequency and faster processor that helps discriminate what in the ground that is the selling point of the D2. Waterproof is the extra bonus. Lets not forget that next year there will be a smaller coil option offered as well.

With the Xp Deus 2 I can go my older places I have hunted and it's like going to a new place. With the multi freq, the bottle cap reject, the ability to see thru black sand, waterproof, and the faster processor. I can go to many places with one machine :)Yeah

I went to a small 2 acre site I've been hunting for 15 years,, ..took the D2 with the 9" coil. As soon as i started swinging, I get a abrupt high tone slap in the face, wake me up , whoa what could this be kinda signal.
This place is a hard dig. Rock mixed with rocks and some soil mixed with rocks, you get the picture. When you get passed the rocky part, it gets easier, but it takes some time. I'm digging and pinpointing, digging and pinpointing because I don't want to use any more effort than I have to. I finally get down past my Garrett carrot and pull out a copper.

My coin expert buddy said it appears to be a British half penny, King George type . . . mostly a blank near zero detail. No biggy, have a bag of them. The thing is, like many of you guys, my surprise was , . .this should have been found already. This is the area that this field starts. This is the spot we start swinging . .everyone that hunts here. This field has been hunted with CZ's, Explorers, f-75's, Equinox, . . and lately a Minelab Manticore. These are only the units I know about. This 9" coil is rather amazing. It not only goes deep, but the unmasking ability's will make you smile in the middle of noware.

By the way, any newly discovered customized deep or unmasking programs come up in the detecting world for the Deus2 . . . Thanks Folks.!

There are certain detecting conditions where I don't think there is a serious advantage to having a D2 over a D1. But if you ever plan to work highly mineralized soil or saltwater beaches, then the D2 is your choice.
Based on my limited testing, the D2 does seem to ID better at depth and offers standardized TID (using MF) vs the D1 where TID changes when you change the frequency. but that's a minor inconvenience on the D1.

If you're on a tight budget and only plan to hunt mild soil in parks and schools...etc. Then I think you would be happy with the D1. However, I'm not sorry I bought the D2. It's an all-in-one detector.
If you think some day you will be hunting ocean beaches, prospecting in AZ, or diving for treasure, (Multi-frequency is a huge improvement under these conditions) then by all means, the D2 is a fantastic choice and worth the investment.

i agree with you on the DEUS 2 100 %

well I don't hunt salt water or gold prospecting. parks, sports fields, curb strips, sometimes house places. I now use an orx. thought I would get a deus 1 module that would work on my rod an H.F. coil. cant afford the deus 2. so that's the way ill go, if I can find just the D1 module for sale. ill be 80 in april. so I guess its time to slow down. before I have no say in the matter. H.H.

I have no experience with the Orx, but from what I've read, it seems like it is a Deus-1 without extra bells and whistles. Unless you are looking for the extra customizability, you probably won't notice any significant advantages to the upgrade.

Well I can say the lord has been good to me. I can get around, slower of course. your right Ism, orx is a good machine. Went to a school practice field yesterday. found a 10k gold grill. ive found eight grills water hunting four were gold. the one I found yesterday was the first on land. Anyway thinks everone for your feedback.
