Deus II is Smoking

Got out on Friday to a civil war site in PA that we’ve been hunting for the Past 5 years that continues to produce; the 1838 Seated Dime was a surprise and my 2nd silver for the year with my new Deus II. I dug 5 .58 caliber drops and 1 fat boy .69 drop; big rivet and 2 flat buttons . The 1838 seated Dime was in a heavily contaminated iron and junky melted aluminum patch about 4-6 inches and the Deus II locked on and separated this high conductor signal from all the trash.The Deus II really locks on the non-ferrous targets really well-better I think than the original Deus and I am confident IMHO no other machine would have located this target. I am still learning my machine with about 40 hours on it since I received mid February but I am extremely happy with the results thus far. Happy Deus II digging.

Wherever good targets are, I’m convinced the Deus ii can find them. Can’t wait to try it with the 9” coil when I finally get mine, even though the 11” works pretty dang good. Very sweet finds.

Yes I’ve been blessed from this 55 acre site, I’ve dug 2 breast plates, 1 Confederate Georgia Frame Buckle, an iron back Block I, Virginia Coat, NY Staff, over 100 bullets, over 20 silver coins (some period) and my best find: an 1852 Liberty Head one dollar gold coin; if I never dig another relic in my life I will die a very blessed man sir.

Nice finds does the Infantry button have any markings on the back? I found one just like that here in CT it's beautiful condition full shank but no marker on the back?

Mark Kus, no the Confederate Block I you are referring has an Iron back and with the corrosion and rust on the back of the block I there is no discernible markings

Nice finds in there! Question….you say “junky melted aluminum”…which in my experience tends to come in where coins would. In your opinion was this because the aluminum was like burnt up aluminum FOIL or was the aluminum more substantial but the machine was able to see around/through/under it?

Yep, it was an old turn of the century house site and there is just tons of the burnt aluminum everywhere; but as you know-the junky burnt aluminum comes in mid 70s range which on the Deus II can be civil war buttons so you have to dig it out to find the better conductors. The 1838 seated dime was a solid 91/92 on the Deus II, so I figured I had dug another silver Rosy! LOL-was I pleasantly surprised to see seated-and my oldest US seated yet; incidentally I dug two bust times out of here last year (1834/1835). Happy Deus II hunting!
