Detector Pro Headhunter PI

New member
I've read some good things about the DP HHPI, anyone use one, how does it compare to the other machines like White's DF and Excals? Thanks, John

If you like to dig.......then the Detector Pro is the machine for you. It is a PI aka Pulse Induction which means it will pick up ANY and ALL types of metal from fish hooks to gold rings. You cannot compare it to the Excal or the Whites because they are a different type of machine........VLF which will discriminate out unwanted items. The Excal is geared towards gold and will discriminate out most objects containing iron.

You need to do your homework as to the type of hunting you are going to do and the best machine for what you want it to find. It takes practice no matter which machine you buy. They are all good in the right hands.

Thanks for the reply. I was leaning toward a PI only because during the summer the targets around our beach tend to be very deep, lots of sand, don't think any VLF would hit them. Thanks for the info. HH

I've used the detector pro wader with lots of success here on fresh water lakes/beaches-have hit a quarter at a measured 14" thru sand /clay mixture.also with this machine I've pulled more gold/silver jewelry from water/beach then with any other brand detector I used in the past 20yrs.ya can/t beat detector pro products- very high quality machines at a reasonable price-call MR BILL for your choice model at the best price any where.the rover could tell ya more about PI model he has used them

The whites DF(Dual field) is a Pulse machine too, unlike the excalibur that is BBS(not vlf) After a while you get to know what is junk by the sound, ie most booby pins and nails will give a double blip,

I think it one heck of a detector, Useing mine as a winter detector, wet sand & water (salt water) . Black sand , no problem. It digs deep 5 , 6 scoops on aveage. Good choice. Good Luck
