I had my total left hip replacement in Feb. 1996. In 2001 I went in the hospital for my right hip replacement with a revision. I am now about to turn 65 this coming month. Knock on wood, I get around good. I had a great surgeon in Atlanta. He specialized in sports medicine, and he was the Dr. that did Bo Jackson's hip surgery. As long as your Mom has a good surgeon and she does like she's supposed to in her rehab, she will do fine. I wish her all the best. I meant to add that I am retired from the Fire Dept. I had 16 years in when I had my first hip replaced. I would work another 10 years with the Dept. before retirement, 8 of those years I was still on the truck and fighting fire. The Dr.'s know their stuff, and again, I know your Mom will come out find from her surgery.
