Deeptech vs. Tesoro machines?

One of the machines in my lineup is a Vaquero. I love the analog setup. It makes detecting simpler and more fun, but you can still punch deep and find what others have missed.

I'm considering picking up a Deeptech machine to see how it performs compared to the Vaq. With Tesoro long gone, it seems like Deeptech is the main option now for anything analog/screenless/etc.

My question is for any Tesoro users who have also used a Deeptech machine: Are the Deeptech machines as good as equivalent Tesoros? I realize an apples-to-apples comparison is tough when it comes to features. But do the Deeptech machines have the same level of nuanced audio as the Tesoros? Do the Deeptech machines do anything that the Tesoros can't?

I agree with everything bigchuckinva stated above. I would also like to add that the sounds you hear are amazing. It's like hearing the electrical circuit synapses open and closing on the chips. You can even hear when it
doesn't quite open. Only detector I have used where I can tell the different between iron, hot rocks and good targets in the same sweep. The Vista X is as deep (in test garden) as my Fishers F75 Deluxe in BP mode, but
with faster responses. And it's nice not having to look at a screen.

So you'd say the audio on the Vista X is better (more informative?) than what you can get on your Tesoros?

Yes. DeepTech Give more Audio Tone/ Infor then Tesoro. With DeepTech New Threshold Adjustment and Adjust with Gain, you still hear super deep target bleed with good high tone {Over 12 inch} Plus} The newly designed Octagon Coil only coil of kinds on marker and help hitting deep target and very stable at high gain settings. Lastly many people think DeepTech are just Tesoro since both have no meters There not DeepTech is "{Super Hybrid" Audio Design there no "Cut Off" Point in Audio like Tersros which either Hit or nothing on deep targets

Get the Vista X!!!
You will not be disappointed.
Plus you have a number of coil options. I have 4 coils.

I tried to download the owner's manual on their website a week ago. They treated the download like a purchase and asked me to fill in my information (name, address, phone number, email address, payment method, etc.) to make the free purchase. I went through the whole process and they said my order was "pending". After a week, since it was still pending, I deleted (hopefully) my information. This is very poor customer service. Every other manufacturer gives manual downloads for free without personal information. I hope the one I ordered is as good as a Tesoro but I was very disappointed with their download procedure.

Go facebook Deeptect Vista-X Group and Join you look all info on page plus ect. Chuck

A few years ago I picked up a Vista X and soon after had 2 major back surgeries which caused me to never take it out and actually use it. I did some air testing with it though, the tones were incredible along with the depth. I regret letting it go when I thinned out my collection.

After using the X for a few months, it seems deeper than most of my Tesoros but I disagree that the audio is more informative or that it is better in iron. I thought it would be an easy transition but it is not. JMO

I'll be comparing my VistaX with a new Simplex Ultra I have comming soon.

For what it's worth and know that I have never tried a DT but a buddy that knows detecting ABSOLUTELY HATES them. He loved the Tesoros and the Golden mask analog machines but said he'll never spend another penny on a DT.

I've got a Vista Warrior and a Vista X. As well as a Bandido 2 µMax and a Tejon. While the Tesoros are still very good machines, both Deeptechs will beat even the Tejon on depth. Deeptech's separation and recovery speed is as good or better than any detector I've ever used (and that's plenty.) They each have their unique audio response but I feel DT gives me more info. Don't like Deeptech's battery compartments though. And the build quality is good but not on par with Tesoro.

"a buddy". Lol

The Viste is an awesome detector. Great depth and among the best in Iron and even mineralized soil.
