Hello, guys,
You wanted it and it's fact already. Yesterday was undersigned contract between DeepTech - Bulgaria and DeepTech Service center in USA. After some days all necessary parts for normal functioning of the service center will be send to Joe' company.
Joe is already member of this forum, so maybe he will inset something too.
Now I want present to you Joe.
Joe is a detector hobbyist for a bit more than 35 years. His selection of machines has cover many makes from Bounty Hunter, Whites, Fisher, Garrett, and Minelab. His current machines are Garrett AT Pro, Minelab Etrac and Excalibur 1000 (underwater machine). Soon maybe Vista too, Joe :) ?
Joe has been doing electronics a little more than 35 years. It was an interest that he picked up in High School. Both his experience and intrigue of metal detectors and electronics had lead to many experiences with a variety of machines and circumstances. His knowledge of electronics allows him to troubleshoot and repair most ANY problem, with most ANY brand of detector. Kind of a natural match, electronics experience and knowledge and understanding of metal detectors.
More information will be included during next days.

This is good news for everyone.

When everything is official and Joe just has to give me the particular contact info and or his website and I will add it to my website help get him on his way.

That is great news. I have several DeepTech detectors and it will be good to know someone is here to service them...John

ladies and gentlemen Joe has been a hunting friend of mine for a while even though we didn't get together this summer but I've known Joe for a while now and very good man knowledgible on most anything electronic there will be no disapointments I'm glad to see this has finally happened!

Thank you Rosi for the introduction. Thank you also Glen for the re-enforcement of my qualities. I look forward to assisting the DeepTech user out there, as well as those to come. As previously mentioned my working background of electronics and service for more than 35 years is a staple. Now couple that with my hobby of metal detecting for about that same period? Well, kind of like a child in a candy store, you see it, you touch it, you just HAVE to HAVE it, right?

In coming days I will post an email contact for the service center, and a web page to soon follow. To answer briefly some question(s), there will be accessory, or peripheral parts available for DeepTech machines through the service center. Only a natural I believe, what if your machine came in with a fractured lower shaft, or coil split? Say that was NOT the problem for service, wouldn't you appreciate being able to have this item replaced at the same time?

Again, I appreciate the intro, and look forward to working with you folks!

Oh, no to forget the one who started all this activity for me, Brandon :clapping: You have been a help, and we need to get together sometime too

Hey Joe thank you very much and yes we need to get together have been prospecting and getting gold the hard way but have found it unless sqeaky gets it now LOL!

Hi Joe,
Welcome !!.....Nice to know that our Deep Tech machines will have support here in the USA .....I still have a VIsta with the older coil that needs to be replaced ....Will you be carrying the wet grass non falsing Vista coils ? ....Thanks for your time and again ....Welcome !!.....Sincerely, Jim

Jim, as far as I am aware I will have inventory of the coils and such to make required repairs for defective ones. I have come up with an email address for the Service Center, it is as follows:

deeptech@neaservice.net

Check back as I am working on the web site as well and should have it up and running soon.

Wow! I have lost total connection to this string and information here as well. Sorry everyone!

As was previously stated, I am the USA DeepTech Service Center. If there is any question on service feel free to contact me directly by email: jhuber@neaservice.net This is a direct email to me and I will contact you back as soon as possible. I can and will forward a phone contact number via email if needed. I prefer not to publish it here for the obvious reasons.

I have found that the DeepTech community is VERY helpful within the ranks. Much a welcome change from some other areas I have worked with over the years. If I could offer some of the more common scenarios or problems I have encountered.

#1 Most frequent: Gain, Volume, Disc, etc. seem to be not responding or adjusting properly.
99% of the time this has been loose knobs. Unless it falls off completely, most don't know there is a screw under the cap on top of the knob. Carefully pop the cap off and there is a phillips screw beneath it. Set you knob mark accordingly and tighten the screw. Turn it up and down to it's max points to assure it is properly positioned.

#2 Most common: The machine tends to have sporadic chatter, or sudden drop out of audio and/or function.
Largest majority of the time this is a symptom of the battery holder and/or the batteries themselves. The older version battery compartment type machines, it is likely the battery connection within the battery holder (light corrosion of terminals or stressed connections). In this case merely clean up the connection(s) or slightly bend them back into position. On the newer version battery compartments with the twist on cover, it's much the same. The battery holder can get corrosion on the terminals when the batteries are inserted, and can be cleaned up (although I have found that there are fairly ready replacements available online). More common in this order is the battery tabs in the box itself. Not so much corrosion, but stress. That meaning they have been bent in slightly and allow for the battery holder to move slightly, and can/will lose it's connection. The preferred method to remedy this is to take the cover off, remove the battery holder and look to the back end inside. There you'll see the tabs that make contact. Just stick your finger in and gently bend the tab back slightly. If your preference isn't to do that means, you can put a small piece of foam in the cover which will help keep the battery holder pushed forward and making connection.

I could go on with other minor and less frequent situations. But I believe most anyone out there that has run a machine for any length of time already knows a lot of the simple and common field remedies. Wet coil, sediment in the coil cover, coil wire not wrapped adequately around the shaft, coil not screwed on tightly (snuggly), headphone jack not plugged in completely. You get the point I'm sure.

Thanks again to Rosi, Richard, Glen and Brandon for the intro years back and the continued support.

Joe

It is always a great pleasure to work with you, Joe :) Not every day can be found such a well-trained specialist.
