For every day use and in a variety of applications, parks, play grounds, yards, etc. the Vaquero, Silver and as Monte mentions even some of the older models would be a great purchase. You need to remember that 90 to maybe 95% of your typical finds, coins and jewelry, etc. in the fore mentioned locations, are within 6 inches of the surface. I recently found a coin dated 1786, it was only 5 inches down. In all the videos I've watched, I've never seen a Barber Quarter, for example, found deeper then maybe 6 - 7 inches? The advantage of the Vaquero over a few of the others, is it allows ground balancing and has a pretty good All Metal mode which gives you a bit extra depth. I think, and I'll probably get flack for saying this, after using some of the high end detectors, I found they are more designed to hunt new buyers, then treasure. Stay with Tesoro and you'll be happy and successful.
Those fancy displays are a great bait, glad I didn't go that way
