Dealing with Fisher

Hey Skiwhiz, Who ever told you they don't honer the life time warranty anymore? I've sent my CZ-20 back 2 times last year. They not only honored it, they upgraded mine to the CZ-21 at no charge!!!. I think you should check your information first.
I know Scuba has had a bad experience with them and with that It truly saddens me. I only hope they do him right on this repair and never let it happen again.
My worry is that Fisher might have some product quality issues. I think they have competent personnel, but there product could be substandard in regards to the quality it used to have.On that note:( Are they being made over seas now?) Thats why it saddens me.They still honor the lifetime warranty if you had one, and our the original owner. Thats the word I got from them.
You would think that knowing all the trouble Robert has already gone through that they would double, triple ,quadruple test that detector before leaving the repair shop. This is unacceptable in my eyes, and worries me.

Tom

I just found out that my machine is on its way back to me again!! Now if I could only find a way to use all three machines at once. Lets see, A 10" on my left arm, a 10" on my right arm and the 8" directly in front?? Wow, I sure could cover a lot of underwater territory!!!

Hopefully the last post here. I just got an email from Fisher. Here is what they wrote:

The unit had a broken panel and water got inside unit, therefore we replaced the panel, pinpoint switch, circuits, panel gasket, face and bezel.

This happend by them just shipping it to me? They had replaced everything before I got it back. The box wasn't damaged and they had tested it. My only conclusion is that the front pannel BREAKS quite easily. Be careful with your units everyone. Maybe find a padded box that you can put the control box in after your done using it.

Again, they are trying and I am sure the models will improve with each revision. Lets get out and find some treasures!!!!

You are right, I shouldn't repeat unless I know for sure. I have heard from more than one person that they are no longer honoring the lifetime warranty but I guess that isn't the case. I no longer have any detectors made by Fisher/First Texas so I won't know how good their service is or isn't. My apologies to Fisher/First Texas. Thanks! Steve.
