Hi all again... Day four, and what a day. Firstly i would like to say thanks to jason for the tip on using 2.5 mhz only for coin shooting.... used my slightly modified coin and jewlry prog today tuned to the 2.5 mhz frequency with RX at 7 and discrim at 70. AWSOME is the only way i can describe it !!! 8 coins in ten minutes including a silver george the third shilling. others were a mixed bag of old halfpennys and yet another pound coin. every single one was VDI'd with spot on sable numbers pinpointed to perfection and the shilling was at about 9 inches !!!. also the deepest find of the day was a circular piece of lead about 2" indiameter and found at about 15" yep that right 15" and a totally spot on VDI all the way to the target.

I am now sold on this machine and cat wait to get out again tomorrow.

all the best rob

Rob thought you would like the 2.5 for the coin hunting that is why the V3 is such a great detector you have the tools to make he changes you need. Glad you are getting out to hunt to much work and not enough play for me here. I hope to get in some hunting time with mine again soon. Do not get stuck on just that program though for coins in the copper silver range it should be great. If you think there may be some gold around may want to go back with the three freq when you find a spot that does not have all the foil. The 22.5 is hot on gold but loves the foil too.

many thanks Jason.... awsome day out today really feel that i am getting the hang of the V3 now. Its quite radically different to my XLT but i have to take my hat off to whites, the controls are a dream and way way simpler than any top end minelab i have used. I can now safely recommend this detector to anyone now safe in the knowledge that its a bit good !!! my two detecting mates who were out with me today were just blown away at the way i was diggin nothin but coins and no trash whatsoever. HAPPY DAYS !!!

That 2.5 is great on the copper and silver. Keep us posted on your finds.
