D2 Coil

For the users that have other coils for their Vision/DFX/MXT , how does the D2 stack up against say, the 9.5, the super 12 .. wildherre

On my DFX I seem to get the same depth between the 9.5 and the D2 but the D2 has better separation.......

I have the Super 12 but mine will not work with TX Boost and IMO isn't half as good as the D2. My 1400 DD also doesn't work with TX Boost and also isn't as good as my D2 but my 5.3 Eclipse does work with TX Boost and though not as deep as the D2 it will go to 8+ inches for a quarter and is great in trashy areas and not as sensitive to interference.

I see my 1400DD and Super 12 going up for sale cheap to buy what ever Sun Ray comes out to marry the V to a DX1 type pinpointer. The 5.3 is a keeper on the V and will have to be pried from my cold dead hands. :wiggle:

Unless I missed it, I haven't heard any negatives about that 5.3 coil yet. Every post is getting me closer to pulling the trigger for one.

I have had my V3 for a few weeks now.I have air tested several of my coils with my program I am playing with.I know this does not mean actual ground depth and I havent found anything past 11-12 inches in the ground yet.The air test go like this and was done outside.Super shooter@ 6- 8inches,5.3@ 10-12 inches, Hotfoot@10 inches,8 inche excellerator @ 12-14 inches ,D2@ 14-16 inches,10x14 excellerator@ 20 plus inches.I read some where at one time you can expect to lose around 20 percent in ground compared to the air, at this rate there should be some very good depth .So before you get rid of those old coils, You might want to play with settings and different coils and not all coils need the RX boost to get depth they may turn out to be very good in your ground. Yazoo I would like to hear about this program that your playing with. A nickel at seven inches has been my best and air tests 8 inches with a quarter is tops for me. Thanks in advance.

worked just fine. I didn't use Tx Boost in most cases due to the very mineralized ground I have to deal with, but depth performance w/o Tx Boost has been fine so far.

I've used the 950 to compare with the 10" DD and they both hit solid on 7" to 8" test plot coins that have been in position for 3+ years. I used the stock Coin & Jewelry program with Tone ID turned on and the rest factory settings. I also can hit these targets with a 5.3 (6

Here all this time I didn't know (or think) the 5.3 coil was 6-1/2 inches. I don't know why the thought never crossed my mind - should have known from designation of some other coils out there the true diameter.

It ALL depends on your ground wildherre. In highly mineralized ground the DD coils excel. In low mineralized ground the conical coil are better. For depth, the larger the coil, usually, the better depth. For separation, the smaller the coil, the better the separation.
