CZ7 Volume

On My CZ7 I noticed while testing depth on the table with a dime it only detects it to about 7" unless I turn the volume to max then it detects it to 11". It seems like the internal gain may be low. Does anyone else see this with their CZ7. I used a CZ6 and 3D before and I don't remember them being like this.

I believe the CZ's have a modulated audio. Volume settings 1-5, deeper targets will sound fainter (per my CZ6a manual). I usually run the volume at max and adjust my headphone knobs. This is to insure a large surface target doesn't blast my ears off.

I haven't had a CZ7. The CZ6a, and CZ20 and CZ5 all are as therover describes. Seems the detector is detecting the targets well, it is just that with lower volume settings you are not hearing them.

The volume control won’t have any effect on depth of the Cz . sensitivity will give you a little more depth. The volume 1-5 gives you modulated audio 6 and above gives louder sounds. Optimum sensitivity would be 3-4 . above 4 seems to make the targets sound bigger than they are. As far as volume goes, I like to use the modulated audio. That way soft high tones usually indicate Deep targets and the louder sounds are usually shallow targets .
