Fisher made a 5 inch, 8 inch and 10.5 inch coil. Sunray made a FZ-12, 12.5 inch coil that are as hard as hen's teeth to find. They are all concentric coils. I read that there was a DD coil made but not in production.
The 8 inch is the best overall use coil. If you are in a lot of trash the 5 inch is useful but I've had a couple of them and none were very deep; working the 8 inch coil slow and listening worked better for me in most trashy situations than putting the 5 inch coil on. The 10.5 inch is a bit heavy and makes the detector nose heavy too. I have one of the FZ-12 coils and I like it for coverage at the beach. The FZ-12 has been on my CZ6a for years and has not come off. I don't use it over land, it is beach only for me with that set up. All the CZ coils are compatible ... except the CZ6 which used a different connector (many CZ6 were updated to CZ6a). The CZ20 and CZ21 coils are hard wired, but if a connector were put on, they would be compatible with the other CZ's.

@tvr thank you for the response

oldkoot...I replied in our PM and basically said the exact same thing as TVR. I have all the coils, but the 8 inch stays on for the most part.....even on the beach. Just easiest to swing.

I have configured my CZ unit to be on a straight shaft with the box under the arm cuff, making it perfectly balanced. I hunt by tone so I don't need to see the meter.

The reason I'm not configured that way is that I hunt in nearly all all-metal mode (autotune) and when over a target flip the discriminate knob to disc 0 to listen to tones. It is an easy flip and then back with a thumb on the standard shaft but takes much more moving around to do the mode flip with it mounted for best balance ... always seems to be tradeoffs!
