cz-3d nickel test ?

New nickles will read in the pull tab range. With a older nickle on my Whites they would ID 19-24 new around 30 which is in the pull tab zone.My CZ has the same problem these new coin are made out of different material, which give different ID identification. So its not just a Fisher problem. Ron

they are supposed to give a Hi-tone, no matter what the meter says. The problem I had with mine was, it would register all nickels that I tried from Buff's to V's as pulltab with a Mid-tone. It also gave all gold items tested as Mid-tone as well. Since your main draw of the CZ3d is to dig all Hi-tone targets while in the enhanced mode, I would and no doubt missed quite a few targets by diggin all Hi-tones, which is what the CZ3d is supposed to be all about.

I did test a v nickel and buffalo nickels , it was my understanding if in the salt mode it would read nickel , but it would only read round pulltab , and if I turned the disc. knob past 1 it would knock the nickel out no matter which mode it was in , I sent the unit back to fisher they said they would check it out , I bought the unit off e-bay , so it might have been dropped ,as I have no way of knowing .

Just got off the phone with fishers tech. , he said that some kind of crystal something went bad , he said that it was common and that every onece in a while they need tuned up , I explained to him that I bought it off e-bay and thought that maybe it might have been dropped , so I have to pay 125.00 that ok just as long as its fixed , watch out old sites , but you lucky ones with the life time warranty wont have to worry , just send it in when you think its not working right !

fisher tech called me , informed me that my was fixed , some crystal went bad , he stated that they do every so often , and need a tune up . now Im ready to go over my old spots , should work great with a new tune-up !!! I hope.
