i thought i explained what i meant as well as i could, not here for a fight just expressing what i see.

i think maybe you think i am bagging out minelab detectors and that's not so i own several minelabs from pulse to etrac my concerns are stated in my previous post and have nothing more to add to that.

not long to go now and we will have these in our hands and the pain will be over and a whole new chapter will begin.

so if i have upset you in some way i am sorry but i was expressing a view and while it may not be everyone's view it is mine and reading some posts on here would confirm the frustration felt by many..

so i am unsure why you feel the need to attack every post i have made but only you know why that is so and really i cant help you with your worries, but best of luck with your new detector hope you have fun out there.

I'm honestly trying to understand why you think they messed up, I'm not attacking you in anyway but when you make posts in absolutes don't shrivel up like a wilting flower when they're challenged. I think people don't understand how marketing and product placement work. I don't think people understand how industries outside of the metal detecting industry actually convey the presence of a new product to the public. Thus I believe this is where the "they messed up" comes from. Everyone wants to know everything instantly and in general people lack patience. However that's not Minelabs fault. People only need look in the mirror on that. Minelab didn't ask (to my knowledge) findmall to create a ctx forum, they did that themselves. Same with MLOTV. Again not Minelabs fault. The funny thing is it worked even thought you say "its their fault". This forum almost has as many threads as the Xp Deus forum in less that 3 weeks.

not shrinking but not getting in to a drawn out discussion on this as in a few days it will be irrelevant but yes i do understand modern marketing and well its a pet dislike of mine selling people things they don't need, and using modern psychology to do it, i would have brought this detector without the carry on but hey am sure others may not have and this worked a treat so we are pawns in a big company's game and that gets on my craw.

needless to say i am a Michael Moore fan he is great and loved when he rapped the big bank with crime seen tape and got on the loud speaker and told them they had committed crimes against the working class etc...

so now you know a bit more about me and my thoughts on capitalism and its ha;f the reason i like detecting i put my headphones on block out the madness in the world and get lost in the hunt , while the world self destructs , have a look at modern economy's going belly up through this sort of management so well not much i can do but i can express my dislike of it and its not meant to offend anybody but maybe make them more awear of whats happening.

now i am sure many will disagree with me but don't believe me read a paper look at the TV or the internet like my friend explains i am a member of tin foil hat brigade and that's another good reason to look for silver because when the fiat system comes crashing down we will have real money.

Bought the hype..........

I was hunting my nail infested park area a while back- while hunting a guy come up and wanted to see how I was doing.


He had bought a top of the line detector (not a minelab) last year. He had give a little over $2100 for the package deal.
The package included a really cheap carry case, a pouch for all the goodies, diggin tool, a really sorry pin pointer, manual, cheap headphones, coin books
and yes a treasure map.

Everything you need to find treasure.

I got a real iffy hit while he was standing there so I thought what the hey I'll dig it. I was thinking nail and hoped to be surprised, told him as I was digging I would guess it to be a nail.

Sure enough--nail (actually 2 nails, one was bent)-- He started laughing because I just dug a nail. He went on to say he didnt dig nails because his machine ignored nails.As a matter of fact he could look at the screen on his detector and know what was in the ground before he dug.

I said yeah I dig nails sometime, then ask him what his silver count for the year was. He said he'd dug over 600 coins this year. I said silver? He said no just 600 coins hadn't hit any silver yet, but he got 6 silver last year.
I tried to tell him sometimes you got to dig some trash on iffy signals to get a good find, especially in trashy areas.
But he just wanted talk about how his machine ignored the trash. He left after chuckling again about the nails.

About 10 minutes after he left I pulled a barber dime in with a nail.

I guess the moral of the story is........................ make it what you want it be.

Comparing Minelab and its method of giving out information about its new product over a couple week period prior to its release to the economy and the banking industry is a bit out there. Then you said Michael Moore and capitalism and now I understand.

Last time I checked not one person "needs" a metal detector for the purpose of a hobby and the fact you feel you are a "pawn in a big company's game" is scary. No one if forcing you to buy the machine. No one is forcing you to partake in the discusion about it. No one made you post in this thread. You chose to do that. You are a product of your own agenda not someone elses.

My plan for the first couple months is to only take my CTX to places I'm extremely familiar with and have thoroughly pounded with the E-trac. This will help give me a good gauge of the capabilities of this detector.

Also plan to compare signals with Ray-Mo and his Etrac while in the field and get some on video to share with y'all.

Pounded trashy sights have become my favorite places to hunt and these are the kind of posts I will be following in the coming months. As I've said in a previous post I'm a poor people and before I invest I will get as much information as possible about what I am buying. Besides it takes time to get the money together (I have no intention of getting rid of my E-Trac) and the boss lady has to be persuaded.

NOW this is just not funny anymore guys the ground in the uk is baked hard i have two cracking signals in the only ten minutes i have had time for and i just cant dig them
MY WORRIES now AND this is the absolute TRUTH is they came in at 11 inches and 12 inches CRICKEY best get to the gym and get toned up this is serious stuff and i am only on a standard programe
cant understand it as i was less than impressed with the air tests i know people booo hoo them but they sort of give me a yard stick
anyway out there in the open fireld it seems to be doing the business i will tell you more when i have dug them up so pleased i have got a probe

That is why many of us just chuckle when we hear someone with their air test results. Actual ground performance can vary to either extreme and anywhere in between.

Digger talked about the Ferrous coin separation option setting? No I'm sorry I did not see that.

Waving the coil over nail on top of a quarter showed both targets. Sort of bouncy though.

Switching on the FERROUS / COIN option, made the two targets very distinct and separate. It's a great setting when you are trying to cherry pick coins.
