ctx3030 in pounded sites................................

Joe Diggerall

New member
Would be interested what it has done in pounded sites,
surely the testers have taken it to some old glory holes.
Was wondering did it find anything worthwhile?

The Success Story that is posted on Minelab's website was actually taken from some "correspondence" that I sent in during the testing process. After reviewing my notes, they asked to post it as the first CTX 3030 Success Story. I obliged. Dozens, if not hundreds, of people have detected this park. I've personally started detecting it nearly 40 years ago. During the time I was testing the CTX 3030, I pulled Seated and Barber silver, gold jewelry and countless IH and old wheat cents from some of the most nail infested areas I've ever hunted. http://www.minelab.com/usa/consumer/success-stories/ctx-3030-scores-the-trifecta HH Randy

I like to hunt american silver coins.

Seems almost every (public) site I hunt has been pounded. I use minelab detectors. Alot of the sites I have pounded.

At one nail infested area of a park I've hunted for the last three years, I've pulled alot of silver coins. I only go there now when I got nowhere else to hunt, because it quit producing.
I usually will dig nails and other iron junk just to get them out of the area.
Last 10 hunts at infested park------- 6 hunts and nothing but junk. 7th hunt an indian and barber dime, 8th hunt old wheat and and another barber dime.9th and 10th hunts back to nails and junk.

Digger-----were you basically testing the functions of the machine or were you able to take it to alot of places?

If you were able to take it to alot hunted places, did you get silver every time you went to a new place?

Also did you find in any one place a good amount of silver?

I am not at liberty to tell you where I tested the detector, what the testing process entailed, or how long I spent testing the detector and accessories. What I will tell you is that during the time I was testing it, I hunted in just about every type of site you can imagine. I hit many of the local parks that I had not been interested in detecting for quite a few years, because I thought they had been hunted to death. But the CTX 3030 proved to me that there are still a lot of old coins hiding out there, just waiting to be dug up. Did I get a new piece of silver every time I used it? No, not every time. But I am as sure as I am sitting here that had there been any pass under the coil, I'd have found them.

One additional thing I will comment on concerns your statement that you dig the nails and junk to get them out of the way. Honestly, if you have cleaned out an area of everything metal, it may have been "hunted to death". I dug some coins in the 9-inch range. But the majority of the old coins I found were still hiding out there due to adjacent targets, not extreme depth. When I test a new product I figure anyone can take just about any detector to a "virgin" site and pull out coins. But to take a new detector to public areas that have been detected for over 40 years, and pull out Seated and Barber silver from amongst the nails and trash.......that's what sets this one apart from the rest. JMHO HH Randy

Thanks Digger.

Was interested in type of areas not addresses. ( I would be interested in the address of the "virgin" sites).

" Honestly, if you have cleaned out an area of everything metal, it may have been "hunted to death"."
Haven't made the area trash free(yet), it's just loaded with nails.

"But to take a new detector to public areas that have been detected for over 40 years and pull out Seated and Barber silver from amongst the nails and trash......"
That is alot of fun. Got my first detector around 1974 and have hunted pretty much ever since.

Thanks for the info

I'm not saying nothing. But soon Digger will be able to tell you about a secret, never seen before setting on this machine that will blow your mind.

:surrender:

And the plot thickens... You trying to get new patients Doc? ;)

Everyone is going crazy. However, until you do something against the law, I'm not interested. My Ph.D. is in Criminal Psychology. So unless you are a serial killer beating people to death with a metal detector, we probably wouldn't have anything to talk about.

Doc........Do people that have beaten their detectors to death qualify for a consultation with you.....sorry Doc......I couldn't resist:)

This is interesting.... I am excited to learn more.... When will this secret be announced?

My plan for the first couple months is to only take my CTX to places I'm extremely familiar with and have thoroughly pounded with the E-trac. This will help give me a good gauge of the capabilities of this detector.

Also plan to compare signals with Ray-Mo and his Etrac while in the field and get some on video to share with y'all.

Aaah, we have a little in common. Won't go into details here but you have me by 2 years with the criminal background. Mine is in forensics. Thought I got it out of my system, but then I got a detector 8 years ago...

Hi Digger, Please stop telling people that they can detect places and pull lots of finds from them!!! I need to get my 3030 and hit all these spots first, so I need some time before they get their machines !! LOL. I can't wait to get this machine and thanks a bunch for putting up with all those who feel they need all the details of every aspect of the machine. I have never heard of so much complaining and demanding for a detector. Even the Deus (lots of money) and the Minelab GPX5000 (really lots of money), never had this much pressure to give concrete guarantees to finding treasure lol. Thanks for all you have done here and during the testing phase.

the guys up above would know that the way this machine has been rolled out its human nature to get frustrated and this forum being up and running with "we can only" tell you bits at a time has caused the so "called" negative replies to posts and seems everyone has got frustrated prospective buyers, moderators all coming from different positions some wanting answers and the others handcuffed.

so while my detector is on its way this has been a right balls up and well we know who's fault that is, enough said :minelab:

i thought i explained what i meant as well as i could, not here for a fight just expressing what i see.

i think maybe you think i am bagging out minelab detectors and that's not so i own several minelabs from pulse to etrac my concerns are stated in my previous post and have nothing more to add to that.

not long to go now and we will have these in our hands and the pain will be over and a whole new chapter will begin.

so if i have upset you in some way i am sorry but i was expressing a view and while it may not be everyone's view it is mine and reading some posts on here would confirm the frustration felt by many..

so i am unsure why you feel the need to attack every post i have made but only you know why that is so and really i cant help you with your worries, but best of luck with your new detector hope you have fun out there.
