Sport field gold ring , 9 karat. 6 inch coil , depth2 to 3 inches. walked over by me with many detectors and missed!

Yes metal detecting is all about practice , the field i found it on has thousands of can slaw bits every where , a combination of luck and persistence after hunting this patch over 50 times.

Are you by chance...The Coin & Ring Magician? If so,I watch your YouTube videos with great interest! Keep up the good work! If not,than I apologize and congratulate you on a great find nonetheless.
 
Great find. I just recently bought a 6" coil for my CTX. Most of my detecting sites in North Atlanta are loaded with pull tabs, pop tops, can slaw and bottle caps and so on. With the 6" you can often to manage to often only get your good target under the coil and get a rock solid TID and FE/CO screen target. You have a choice. You can hunt with a 17" or stock coil on the CTX and cover a lot of ground quickly and miss good targets (unless you are a dig everything type of person) not possible in North Atlanta, or use a 6" coil and take more time but find more targets that you are looking to find.
