CTX connector?????

sand, if you are looking at the pins on the back of the connector, I would think you would connect the red wire to the first pin to the left of top center. you then need to jump the 2nd and 3rd pins to the left of the first one together and connect the copper wire to either of ose two pins you just jumped together

no jumping needed actually.

Every set I have done, I have had to jump pins 2&3 together to get the external speaker to shut off. This is with gg underwaters with only two wires like the earbuds sand is trying to connect. What is he going to use for the third connection to shut off the speaker on the ctx?

Thanks..
Got it to work...siliconed her up...then the wires came disconnected...took it back apart...silicone and soder mesh...ordered a new connector..hopfully ill get it right next week...lol

well, thats good and bad.....Glad the connections worked for you. It stinks the connections came back apart though.

I believe it is some sensing circutry inside the CTX, but I did not jump anything and my earbuds (shown earlier in this post) work fine by soldering the left, right, and ground in the correct pinouts shown above.

you are correct. If your headphones had seperate left, right and ground wires you wouldnt have had to but sands earbuds only had two wires.

Wired mine tonight to a 1/4" female with about 5" of wire. That way I can use whatever I want in the future and am not limited to any one set of headphones or earbuds.

I am set up to use a set of X-1 waterproof neckwrap earbuds with a coiled cable. They are available on the Big River site for a little over $40.00; $9.00 for the connector and I had the 1/4" extension to cut the female off. So for under $60.00 I have a very loud flexible setup that will stay on my head in any condition and can be used wet or dry.

This sure beats the subpar headphones available for over twice the price.

Remember to turn both your gain and limit up if you need more volume.

I just ordered two connectors. Will try my hand at making some waterproof ear buds also.

my waterproof headphones need a new connector, the wire is a homemade 6 wire, what colors go where. help
